Running in the snow

Watsup guys? Nice weather right! I'm now making sure I blog at least one post every month.. I CAN DO THIS >.<..
Weather
Just a quick update on weather.. it has been snowing again.. a bit too much this weekend. From what I hear most people are hating on the snow this year.. which I completely understand.. cause I was like that a couple weeks ago and now I cba to even mention it.. as long as I am warm and dry then I am happy =D.
Running update
Running seems to be the only update I ever post up about.. which is kinda boring.. but it also shows you how interesting my life is at the moment.. I can't wait for summer.. to see everyone and do all the things I want to do. I feel like I'm repeating myself..  if I saw you on Saturday.. please do not read this.. PLEASEE..
Initially the snow melted on Friday . which made me happy cause it meant I could carry on with my weekend jog. Thank you weather for snowing heavily during the night.. =__=*. I was kinda prepared cause I looked at the forecast.. researched whether it would be safe to run in snow.. and it happened to be safe  ...sooo.. guess who ran 3 miles in the snow.. yup :/.
My mum came up with a new saying yesterday..'the people you should be most afraid of aren't the bad guys.. but the crazy ones'.. this was directed at me may I say =__=****. At first I was hesitant . I didn't know how safe it was, whether I would freeze to death since it was forecasted to be a good couple degrees below freezing.. but what the forecasters say to feel like -11. So I decided the night before, I would run in the snow.. period.
Tips
-Running on freshly laid snow is very safe as long as you are not running up and down a steep slope.
-Have good footwear as a couple inches are going to make you sink, so try and get a high heeled trainer.
-Wrap up warm.. make sure you test the chill factor in your layers.. I wore three. Cover your ears.. that is one of the most important.. and your head. Wear a hat because hair won't cut.. wear a hat.. I repeat wear a hat.. you will get a bad headache if you don't. Wear gloves too and maybe have a windproof jacket.
-Cover most of your body, but make sure its not too many layers because if you get too sweaty.. the moisture will make you cold.
-Listen to some up beat music.. when the snow is hitting your face like someone chucking sand in your face.. you need to keep motivated.
-Warm up before you head out.. about 10 minutes, star jumps, running around from your living room to your kitchen.. maybe watch a workout DVD.. and then head out.
-Ignore the weather forecast sometimes.. when it says it will feel like -11, they don't lie. However when you are warmed up it feels like 0/-1. I'm not saying its safe to freeze to death.. but don't let the idea of -11 get to your head. The colder you think it is.. the colder it is for you. I went out and just ran.. it wasn't even cold.. its so much colder when you're idol..and if you are cold run faster..sprint if you have to..but warm ups are great.
-Wear waterproof trainers.. in case you step in puddles.. your feet will get pretty cold and itchy.. if you can bring a pair of socks with you.
-Warm down ALWAYS.. your muscles will pull so bloody bad in the cold that you would wish your iPhone away that you did it in the first place.
-Ignore any looks for bus drivers, people on the street.. they think your insane because your running in the snow but really you're 3 times warmer than they'll ever be =D.
-Have a warm bath after you warm down and let your muscles relax.. that way they don't hurt the next day.
-It might get a bit hard to breathe..it might be harder than you're used to.. its good for your health because you're pushing your heart more than you are used to.
-If you don't think you can do it, or its too much stop because you don't want to push yourself too much.
How was it actually?
I actually didn't enjoy the run, it didn't feel easy. The cold didn't bother be because I had warmed up.. but my legs weren't used to working that way.. and even though it may look easy.. it was hard for me. I didn't stop, but its nice to know that I have done something that not everyone has done.. and its not everyday it snows in the UK so at least from that I can say I've run in the snow xD. I had a hot chocolate when I got home.. omg that hot chocolate may have been one of best drinks I've ever had.. I wrapped myself in my blanket. TOO GOOD!
I don't think I'm crazy, and I hope you guys don't either.. if you're into running you should really try it out. Just be safe, and don't run in slush and ice. I hope my friend doesn't see this post.. he might think I'm taking this too seriously.. but I didn't do this run just so I could beat him in June.. I did it because I wanted to, no matter how insane it sounds. Although I do hope he gets lazy and ends up running like a snail =D.
